The Massage and Movement Company was founded by Thomas Hitchen (Tom). Tom’s passion for helping and healing individual has been his life long passion. As a Registered Nurse he has assisted people to recover from illness and injury for over 28 years in both the UK, American and Australian health care. Now after completing the latest Remedial Massage qualification that Australia has to offer (HLT50215) he has established the Massage and Movement Company to support the people of Brisbane to recovery from injury and disfunction by using the skills he has developed over his three year Remedial Massage journey.

Our founder, Thomas (Tom) Hitchen
Tom has been working in the health care field for 28 years. He is a Registered Nurse both in the United Kingdom and Australia as well as being a Remedial Massage Therapist. Tom became interested in Remedial Massage after moving to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2014. Initially, his interest was as a patient after suffering a running related injury. He received Remedial Massage treatment and was impressed how this help him recover from the dysfunction he was experiencing as a runner.
In 2015 Tom enrolled on a course of study with Evolve College (Formerly the Australian College of Massage). He successfully completed his Certificate IV in Massage therapy Practice HLT40312. He then continued his studies and completed the Diploma of Remedial Massage HTL52015 with Evolve College.
Tom has always helped people with his hands, massage is a natural progression to allow him to help individual recover from pain and dysfunctional conditions. As a Registered Nurse of 28 years, Tom has developed a very good knowledge of the body’s systems and the musculoskeletal system.
Tom enjoys providing professional care to his clients and is excellent at accessing clients and developing appropriate treatment plans for the individual person’s needs. Tom has treated various conditions ranging from postural issues to sporting injuries to chronic pain. Tom uses a range of massage techniques to treat conditions. These include Remedial Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Relaxation Massage and sports Massage.
Tom is a committed to providing a professional and caring service to his clients. He is committed to his continuing professional development and learning. Keeping current to the latest professional learning allows him to provide the best quality service to his clients. As a member of the Association of Massage Therapists, Tom adheres to its’ Code of Practice.
